Are you suffering from insomnia? If you are, it's certain that you are dying to finally get the sleep you've always wanted and wake up bursting with energy, much more motivation and drive.
Many people suffer from insomnia - or difficulty in sleeping - under varied conditions. As a matter of fact, about ten percent of people may be putting up with this common problem. If, for instance, you are confronted with a temporary but pressing deadline or you are under severe pressure, you may feel harassed and hence be deprived of sleep. But once the deadline is met and you're relieved of the pressure, you should be able to get normal sleep. Ever noticed that night-shift workers (like air traffic controllers and those working in call centers in countries in Asia, such as India, China, and the Philippines) have difficulty adapting to their ever-changing patterns of sleep? This is because our bodies prefer to function during the daytime.
When you go to bed but can't fall asleep, you need to ascertain what's causing your insomnia. Surely there are a number of factors that interferes with your sleep; these interferences should be dealt with accordingly. For example, if you are troubled by some things that happened in the day, try to resolve these concerns before you retire to bed at night. It will also be a big help if you can make a checklist of the things you need to do the following day.
There are many other things you can do to help you put an end to your insomnia. Curtail your caffeine intake, particularly in the latter part of the day. You may instead try having a glass of warm milk. Milk is known to contain a natural chemical that induces sleep. Taking a nice, warm bath before going to bed may help. Before taking a bath, try some light exercise (avoid doing heavy exercise because this causes adrenaline to flow and may make sleeping even more difficult). Reading a good book or watching a non-stimulating program on television may also pave your way to having a sound sleep. Be aware too that alcohol does not encourage sleep as many people would like to believe. In fact, it is one of those factors that can interfere with sleep.
Insomnia may be due to some physical causes, as when you're suffering from sleep apnea - the dreadful condition in which breathing stops for about ten seconds followed by a loud snore. This condition is usually caused by some impediments in the breathing passages, or by some interference in the respiratory center in the brain. In some cases of insomnia, sedatives are used to help people fall asleep. However, even doctors are aversed to prescribing such medications for simple sleep interferences. People who suffer from sleep apnea are warned that the use of sedatives can be fatal.
Certain mental and physical disorders may cause insomnia and, in these cases, using sedatives may only conceal the problem. Becoming tolerant of a sedative is possible after continuously taking it for about a couple of weeks. The danger here is that you may have to take more of this sedative to get the same effect. The medication may then eventually lose its effectiveness and this may result to serious dependency.
Instead of using sedatives or such other medications, know that there is a natural remedy that can put an end to your insomnia and make you finally get the sleep you have always wanted.
If you constantly feel tired or sleep deprived, you're most likely missing out on 90% of the energy dormant in your sleep that could easily send your productivity, motivation, and success through the roof. Get that sleep you've always wanted. [Read the Original Article]
